Do I have title to the property I purchase?
Yes, land is titled in Costa Rica very much like a
real estate transaction in the U.S. Most real
estate purchasers put their real estate purchase(s)
into separate corporations. You simply
own the corporation that owns the property. By
doing this there is no transfer tax when you sell
your property and it is virtually impossible for
anyone to find out who owns a parcel. Dealing with
a competent attorney in Costa Rica is very
important. There are some types of land purchases
in Costa Rica that can not be titled and only an
attorney can assure you are making a sound
investment.
What kind of rental income could I expect from a
Costa Rican rental property?
Rental income will be based on the location of the
property and all the factors you would
judge in the U.S. market. Our company has property

will yield about 10% of the purchase price per year.
